Over the past eight decades, Heinrich Koehler as a company has gone from strength to strength, setting many records along the way. In the 1980s, Koehler held the series of John R. Boker, Jr. auctions, which are internationally recognized as some of the most important stamp auctions ever to be held. In the first such auction, Koehler set the world record price paid for a single stamp, selling the “Baden misprint” of 9 kreuzer black on green for DM 2,300,000 (Euro 1,176,000).
In the 2000s, Koehler had the pleasure of offering the Rapkin collection of “Eagle” issues, the Rolf P. Salinger collection of Switzerland and the Simon Wiesenthal collection among many others, and continues to hold auctions at their Wiesbaden, Germany headquarters.
